Spanish luxury brand Loewe has expanded its production facility in a town outside Madrid.

The company, which is owned by LVMH, will see the new space double its production capacity and will also create up to 200 new jobs by 2015.

The Loewe production facility now covers an area of 15.000 square metres (compared to 6.890 square metres previously) with the number of employees growing from 250 to 430.

The new space includes a research and development centre as well as machinery that will allow Loewe to bring the entire process of leather processing and cutting in-house.

In partnership with the Spanish Government, Loewe is also launching a school in Getafe, aimed at preserving the exceptional ”savoir faire” in leather processing and manufacturing.
