Berluti artistic director steps down

Parisian brand Berluti has confirmed that its artistic director Alessandro Sartori is stepping down after five years.
The luxury fashion house, which is controlled by conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, recently expanded from made-to-measure men’s shoes into a lifestyle label for men.
Sartori, who joined as artistic director in 2011, had been responsible for pushing the fashion house’s international appeal as well as introducing the ready-to-wear line, and his autumn/winter 2016 collection, which showed on January 22 at Les Arts Decoratifs during Paris Fashion Week, was his last for the label.
Commenting on his departure, Sartori said: “I’m very proud to have had the opportunity to develop this extraordinary company and to have created a silhouette for the Berluti man. I want to thank Antoine Arnault and Berluti for the trust they have put in me.”
Berluti was founded in 1895 by Alessandro Berluti in Paris, in 1993, the Parisian label joined the LVMH portfolio. Today, the men’s lifestyle label has more than 45 boutiques worldwide, including in Paris, Milan and New York.
LVMH announced that a new artistic director will be appointed in “due course”.
