H&M's brand & Other Stories is continuing its expansion in the United States with plans for a second store in NYC. On October 30, & Other Stories will bow at 505 Fifth Avenue with a 9,700-square-foot store. The new location was once home to an H&M.
COS will be opening a 3,982-square-foot store in the remaining space, although the opening date for the COS store has not been revealed at this time. In 2014, COS launched their first store on Spring Street in Soho, in addition to launching an e-commerce site last year.
In spring 2016, & Other Stories will be opening two other stores, one at 3241 M Street, and another at World Trade Center. The new Fifth Avenue location will sell handbags, shoes, cosmetics, accessories, jewelry, and ready-to-wear. & Other Stories signature is their handmade elements, which Creative Director Sara Hilden Bengtsson described to WWD as "found in everything from dip-dyed paper bags and strokes of color on the beauty packaging to our handwritten logo."
For fall, the brand has done a collaboration with stylist Ada Kokosar, with items including a black neoprene coat for 195 dollars; a beige sculptural coat for 275 dollars; a navy, peach, tangerine, and black color-blocked coat for 245 dollars; navy, black, and cream colored trousers for 115 dollars, and a plisse wrap top for 90 dollars.
H&M continues to dominate the retail landscape, with no end of declining success in sight.
