Luxury fashion retailer Aquascutum has hired former

Juicy Couture finance director Mark Taylor as its chief operating officer for its UK business.

Taylor took up his new position earlier this month, after replacing former Aquascutum boss Tim Dally, who stepped down due to ill health. He will report directly to Aquascutum International’s executive director and general manager, Andrew Chan.

He brings with him more than 15 years working in the luxury fashion market, which includes his time at Juicy Couture where he was responsible for the financial, operational and strategic growth of the brand, and as head of finance at womenswear retailer Jigsaw.

Commenting on his new role, Taylor said: “The opportunity to join Aquascutum, a brand with such heritage in British tailoring, rainwear and outerwear, was a very easy decision.

“The combination of Aquascutum’s history and heritage alongside the infrastructure of YGM Trading provides the ideal partnership to successfully re-establish Aquascutum as a leading luxury brand in the UK.

“The coming months and years will be an exciting period of growth for the brand, where we will be looking to maximise our presence across our retail and online channels.”

In May 2012, Hong Kong-based fashion company YGM bought the British fashion brand out of administration for 15 million pounds.
